What this is
A programme that pays you in the stock of the company you just bought from. You send proof that you spent money at a brand on the shelf, the proof is read by a model, and a reward worth a share of the total is bought at market as a tokenized share of that company and sent to a wallet you control on Robinhood Chain. Stockback is not a broker, a bank or an exchange, and nothing here is investment advice.
Receipts
A paper receipt is photographed in the scanner. The photo is read for the merchant name, the date and the total, and checked for the signs that it is not paper in front of a camera: a screen, a scan, a reprint, an edit. A receipt older than thirty days is turned away, as is one whose total or merchant cannot be read. Only one wallet can ever claim a given receipt.
The reading happens in the browser first, so the text is visible to you before it is sent anywhere. What is sent is the reading and a fingerprint of the photo, which is what stops the same receipt being claimed twice.
Emails
An order confirmation or renewal email is forwarded, unchanged, to receipts@usestockback.xyz from the address you signed in with. The forwarded message must carry the merchant's own domain in its original headers; a confirmation pasted into a fresh email, or sent from a lookalike domain, is turned away. Subscriptions renew on their own, so a monthly renewal becomes a monthly reward without a photo.
The reward
Each brand sets its own rate, between 1% and 5% of the total. The reward is capped at $20 a receipt, or $100 when the wallet holds $STOCKBACK at the moment the claim settles. Three receipts a day per wallet. Your first receipt also pays its first $5 in full, once, so a small coffee run is still worth photographing.
The reward is bought at the market price at settlement, not at the price when you scanned, and it is the same tokenized share anyone can buy on Robinhood Chain, issued by a licensed tokenized-securities provider. Holding one is not holding the share itself: there is no vote and no shareholder status. It tracks the share's price and moves in both directions.
Settlement time
The one number on every brand. It is the median, over the last hundred rewards for that brand, of the time from an accepted claim to the shares arriving in the wallet. During a trading session it reads in minutes. When the exchange behind a share is closed, a reward is still accepted and priced, but the purchase waits for the market to open, and the number on the shelf shows that honestly rather than hiding it behind "in review".
There is no manual review. A claim is accepted or turned away by the reader, and if it is turned away you are shown the reason on the claim itself.
What gets turned away
A receipt that is not paper. A receipt already claimed, by you or anyone else. A merchant that is not on the shelf, or one whose stock Robinhood has not listed yet. A total that cannot be read. An email whose original sender is not the merchant. A fourth receipt in one day. Rewards are stock, so a fake receipt is theft, and the reader is built so the easy fakes cannot be sent at all.
Regions and issuers
Rewards are paid where tokenized shares can be lawfully delivered to a self-custodied wallet, which at launch means most of the EU, the UK, and a set of other countries listed in the app. The list can change. Brands are references for what you bought, not partners, unless a brand page says otherwise.
The token
$STOCKBACK raises the per-receipt cap and is what the protocol's revenue buys back and burns. It is not required to use anything on this site. See the token page.
